The new Southland log home model is located directly off of I-65 via exit 193 in Chalmers, Ind. and can be easily accessed from the Chicago and Indianapolis metro areas. University Expansion Contracts Awarded
Columbia, SC — Southland Log Homes, designer and manufacturer of America’s Favorite Log Home™, announced that it has been awarded additional contracts for an expansion of the facilities at Sam Houston State University. Southland is providing design support and materials for a meeting hall and a medical building on the University’s Huntsville, Texas campus. Previously, in 2013, Southland supplied nine other buildings at the University, including a large assembly building and eight residential units. Beginning in January, log cabins designed and manufactured by Southland Log Homes will be featured on the National Geographic channel’s “Building Wild” television program. The program, hosted by Paulie DiMeo of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, follows the construction of dreamed-of log cabins in wild settings. The first episode featuring a Southland log cabin is scheduled to air on January 28. It tells the story of the construction of a cabin, situated in a beautiful Vermont mountain setting, which is capable of rotating 360 degrees so that the owners can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset from their porch.
